Every year, D. Miller & Associates, PLLC gives back to the community we love through our charitable outreach program, DMA Cares. Here is a recap of our partnerships and participation in 2018 that raised money and spirits in our community.

Bikes on the Bayou – April 27-29, 2018 – Eleanor Tinsley Park, Houston

This all-inclusive event for motorcycles, scooters, cruisers, sport bikes, and bicycles was a success. The three-day rally, which raised money for the Buffalo Bayou Partnership, featured rides along Allen Parkway and a wide variety of bands and vendors in beautiful Eleanor Tinsley Park. Countless enthusiasts and music lovers had a chance to mix and mingle day and night. Another Bikes on the Bayou event is scheduled for Spring 2019 – ride on!

Heroes Helping Heroes – May 10, 2018 – The Law Office of D. Miller & Associates, PLLC

We were proud to continue our support for Houston Children’s Charity (HCC) program, “A Better Night’s Sleep” that helps deserving youngsters receive a free bed.

Our Legal Heroes kicked off the event with a four-hour celebration in our Houston office that featured giveaways like a TV and iPad, along with food, drinks, and games for kids. Every $100 donation helped needy children in Houston get a better night’s sleep with a: twin mattress set, bed frame, pillow, and sheets.

Since the HCC began “A Better Night’s Sleep” in 2007, more than 22,000 boys and girls throughout Houston now get the rest they need for school and life.

Lessons by Legends Football Camp – July 7-8, 2018 – W.W. Thorne Stadium

What does a Texas kid do in the summer? Football camp! Our team was proud to be a sponsor for this camp featuring former Houston NFL greats Andre Johnson and Arian Foster.

Miller & Associates, PLLC gave back to the community by helping the young players enjoy two free days of learning about football from professionals and those who train them. Unlike some football camps, Lessons by Legends divided kids into different position groups to learn specific skills. The youngsters had a chance to talk one-on-one with Andre Johnson and Arian Foster. Both of them shared the lessons they learned throughout their lives and in the NFL.

Ride for TBI – August 11, 2018 – Houston

This was our second annual Motorcycle Ride for TBI. We raised nearly $1,500 for victims of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Many from our team joined motorcyclists from around Texas for this unique police-escorted ride.

Our mission is to help with the life-care expenses of TBI. We hope to attract more riders in 2019 to raise even more funds and awareness of this catastrophic injury.

Heroic Behavior – Throughout 2018 – “Talk 2 Me Tuesday” & “Jueves de Justicia” Live Facebook Shows

“Talk 2 Me Tuesday” is our weekly Live Facebook show (Tuesdays at 3:00 pm Central Time) that covers legal issues and social topics that affect all of us. We also have a Live Spanish-language Facebook show, “Jueves de Justicia,” that airs Thursdays at 3 pm Central Time.

Host Mari B. speaks with the attorneys from D. Miller & Associates, PLLC on a variety of timely subjects from social injustice to survivors with amazing personal stories.

Each month, we selected one winner from each show. We looked for individuals who showed heroic behavior and helped a fellow Houstonian. In December, we expanded our giveaways with a special “12 Days of Christmas” extravaganza.
